I always love red and red checkerboard with polka dots. Perfect.
This bag closes with and elastic band over a large button.
Western Design Faux Suede Tote Bag
I love this bag! It is made from a Faux Suede with embroidered western style design.
It has an elastice loop that closes over a large button.

It closes with a wide band over the top. The band has an elastic band that pulls over a large button
Malika knit tote bag
This is a great free Ravelry download designed by Overbrewed Knits (Heather Sapp). I made mine twice as long as the pattern directed, but it's so stretchy I really didn't need to do that. This took no time at all to knit either! AND there's a pocket inside! Perfect bag!

Two Drawstring Cotton Bags and One Easy Mesh Tote
The yellow and green bags are the Drawstring Cotton Bag and the blue bag is the Easy Mesh Tote.
I made these with one long cord with both ends tied at the base so that I could wear it as a backpack. I like to take these on walks with my dog. I can keep baggies inside and then put the poop bags back in the tote and inconspicuously carry it back home to the trash.
Kokopelli shopping Satchel Turquoise Blue and Black
Very handy satchel measures approximately 9 inches (width) by 9 inches (length). Made with cotton fabric with pattern and black trigger fabric (stronger) for lining. Satchel closes with a zipper that is slightly hidden. Inside hems are seamed and sewn into place. Strap is made with 7/8 inch grossgrain, I have found this to be durable and also comfortable to wear. Straps each hand sewn into satchel so no thread lines are seen on the outside.
Great for shopping trips, craft shows, traveling, hiking, walking the animals, whatever. I wear them over my shoulder and don't go anywhere without mine. It also easily folds up and can get small enough to even put in your pocket.

how to sell homemade purses and bags
Either try at EBay, make a website or go to craft shows. EBay you can do at your leisure. A website costs money to maintain unless you have a friend you can exchange handmade items for web time.
www.ebay.com or www.craigslist.com both good sites ebay cost money to put items on there site and craigslist is free to post items. Good luck!!!

bag used fusible fleece to quilt the exterior
I made this bag for myself for an upcoming trip - fabrics are a combo of new and my daughter's old dresses. I used fusible fleece to quilt the exterior and interior and also quilted the exterior to canvas so this bag is STURDY. I'm also excited that this was my first attempt to put a zipper closure on a bag and it went great! 18" across and 12" tall, 5" deep - should fit everything I need for the plane ride
X BAG using Michael Miller fabrics
This is one of my favorite patterns of all the ones I have bought and tried. It is tricky at first to put together but worth the effort. It folds to make the bag (4 layers) and makes its own pockets- one on either side the entire size of the bag. The handles attach on the bag pieces and the whole thing is one piece. It is hemmed using bias tape and has a closure tab with velcro and an old fashioned button on the outside. The bag is reinforced with fusible fleece.
Chalkboard Tote- fusible fleece lining
Personalized chalkboard tote bag. Made with cotton fabric & has a fusible fleece lining.
hand appliqued Quilt Square Bucket Purse
This great purse is made from an antique quilt square. It came from a hand appliqued quilt with a design featuring 3 lovely flowers in shades of pink, yellow, blue, and green. They are highlighted with some hand embroidery. It has also been hand quilted, and has wool batting.
cute Vintage Quilt Square Purse Tote
This purse was made from 2 vintage quilt squares cut from an old cat quilt. One square shows a cat standing to play and the other a cat sleeping (as they do so much!) It is lined with blue and white gingham. So cute
Tablecloth handbag 'sans' pattern
Second go at a handbag 'sans' pattern! First go at making a button hole - easier than I thought. Used interfacing this time - gives a much better shape. Fabric is from an op-shop tablecloth (1970's pattern I think).
Antique Quilt Square Purse
This purse is made from an antique quilt in the pattern of grandma's flower garden. It is one quilt square. The purse is lined with a pretty coordinating calico, and has a snap closure. Very pretty
Blue n' Yellow Yo Yo Messenger Bag vintage lace strip
love the way this messenger bag turned out. The fabric is so bright, and the vintage lace strip that I put on the flap really adds some I think
Purple bag with yo-yo flower
After learning how to make a tote and a handbag from Amy Karol's "Bend-the-rules Sewing" book, this is my first attempt at a bag without using a pattern. I'm reasonably happy with the shape, but I think it needed more structure? And a less crinkly fabric
Pink canvas Yo Yo Messenger Bag
This bag is made from heavy canvas in a beautiful print with shades of pink, orange, green, and black. Really pretty pattern.
THEN...I added a little ZOOM to this bag with some embellishment on the flap. I put a pink satin ribbon across the flap with a Yo Yo, completed with a beautiful orange detailed button (what bag is complete without a Yo Yo?).
